Brutal

For reference: MoMA Names New Chief Curator of Photography

I was pleasantly surprised by how fast my photography contacts on Twitter managed to turn the news back into a critique of the “anyone can be a curator/expert” nature of the web. I do not expect humor that subtle—especially on the internet.

The continued discussion about web curating is about as annoying as a lot of the other photo topics which keep popping up. There’s never been enough for me to write a post about it though. This is one of the rare instances where I was able to put my thoughts in a tweet.

And yeah. It’s been over a year since that tweet and nothing has changed. Lots of focus on the web on collecting images. No focus at all on explaining the point.
