Point Pleasant

DSC_0350

It only took us almost two years in Jersey to do it but we finally made it to the Jersey Shore. We did Point Pleasant since it’s the closest to us. It’s nice. We prefer California beaches and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk still but it was good to see the Atlantic, feel the sand between our toes, and wander along the boardwalk sampling the local specialties like Water Ice.

The weirdest thing is having to deal with paying for beach access. As Californians, we’re not used to the idea that beaches are private. It’s a very different set of values out here. Now all those cute picket fences on the beaches that scream “East Coast” to me are also screaming “no public access.”
