Giants Wantlist

A list with haves/total listed in the headers and what I need enumerated. If there’s no have/total number listed it’s because there’s only one Giants card from that set which I want.

Realistic goal is Topps team sets from 1972 to 1993. Before 1972 the combination of high numbers and Willie Mays (and Marichal and McCovey and Cepeda and Perry) is going to be get spendy pretty fast. After 1993 is when my collecting sort of died and so I have to figure out what I want to do with those years.

Current status of this has 1973–1993 mostly complete. A few rookies, high numbers, parallels, or traded cards are still missing but aside from the 1975 Marc Hill rookie card (expensive for Gary Carter reasons) there’s nothing spendy. 1960–1972 is also fast approaching a stage of semi-stibility where all I’m missing are the expensive cards—stars and high numbers.

I also have some random other cards and sets from the 1980s to the present on this list. Many of these are things like the All Star Glossies I grew up with in the 80s but as I get more acquainted with the post-1994 card landscape I expect other things to show up.

Not on this list? 1951–1952 Topps (although I do have a 1952 Clint Hartung) and 1948–1955 Bowman (I do have seven 1949s plus a 1950 Hank Thompson here though). 1951 Topps, while something very neat which would be cool to own, isn’t quite a “baseball card” for me. 1952, especially the high numbers, feels like even more of a reach than 1953–1957 Topps. Bowman meanwhile is a something I’m just not familiar enough with (yet) even though in the pre-1956 landscape those sets are as important as the Topps ones.

Anything struckthrough is supposedly in transit.
Anything italicized is supposedly “on my pile” with a trading partner.
