Saxonia is the only standard hike on any Packer trip. It’s a short one but the lake approach is a tricky section of climbing over boulders down to the lake. The boys love it and remind me of how much I loved climbing over those same rocks when I was their age.

Summer film, roll 1
I’ve finally got around to scanning film from last summer. I’ll post things a roll at a time since I’ve already posted about the events the cover. This roll includes photos from Packer Lake, Saxonia, and Frazier Falls.
Saxonia
One of the few hikes we did complete from Packer Lake. Way, way more water compared to my previous visit, we couldn’t even walk around the lake this time and had to stop and eat right where the trail reached the shore.
Saxonia
After the previous year’s hiking, I took only film with me on a lot of the hikes this year and have decided to break my posts down on a per-hike basis. The hike to Lake Saxonia is the first one we take each year since it’s my mom’s favorite lake and it’s a good getting-used-to-the-altitude hike. And yeah, the last photo here is one of my recurring photo subjects.

Packer Lake 2013
Same trip as previous years. This may be the first year since I’ve started the blog though that I spent an entire week there. This is also the first time I’ve taken a TLR* hiking. Only a few of those photos are here but it was good to learn that I enjoy hiking with that camera.
